Venezuela is a country located in the north of South America. It has a population of 30 million of inhabitant. Also, it has all the types of weather: beaches, mountains, deserts, jungle and kinds types of cities. It’s known for the petroleum, beautiful women and the charisma of its people. These is the places that you should visit if you go to Venezuela:
10. CARACAS
Caracas is the capital of the country. It offers a lot of places you should visit. The Waraira Repano or Avila, a geographical accident that separates the city of the coast and is a natural longue for the city. If you want to take a good photo all the entire city, you should go the Valle Arriba Lookout. The city has many night clubs to visit: Hollic, Rosalinda, LeClub, Barriot and many others. If you want to know about the past of Venezuela you can go to the National Pantheon, The Bolivar’s Mausoleum and The Bolivar’s House. You can visit several museums too: Bellas Artes Museum, Kid’s Museum, the different monuments like the Soto’s work, among others. It’s a big city so if you want to visits all the places you must stay for a few days.
9. MOUNTAIN RAGE
This area is located in the north of Venezuela. It has an extension of 53.000 km2. In this zone you can find many beaches that you want to visit. You can access most of it by car and the road goes side by side with the sea. Some of the beaches are: Tuja, La Sabana, Cepe, Choroni, Cata, Osma, and many others.
8. MERIDA’S PARAMO, BOLIVAR PEAK & MUKUMBARI CABLE CAR
This zone has the lowest temperature of the country. If you go in December-February, you can find temperatures of -2°C in the Paramo and in the Bolivar Peak -10°C. The Bolivar Peak is the highest peak in the country, it is 4978 meters above the sea level and its top is always covered with snow. The North face is the most difficult side to climb.
The Paramo is a region located 4.118 meters above the sea level. In this area you can find all types of hotels, from a little cabin to suites. If you stay there, you can see all 5 Aguila’s Peak and if you are lucky when you wake up in the morning, you will find snow. Also, you can ride a horse and do one of the expeditions that the local people offers to you.
The Mukumbari Cable Car is the largest cable car in the world and the second one taller. It rise to the top of the Mirror Peak. It’s divide in 5 station, in the last station we will find a lot of stores where you can buy a hot chocolate and enjoy the view.
7. MORROCOY NATIONAL PARK
This park is located in the Falcon state. In the park we have a lot of places with transparent water and white sand. For the visibility underwater, the places are ideal for practice diving and snorkeling. To go to one of these places, you have to take a taxi boat in Tucacas or Chichiriviche, and in a matter of 20 minutes, you will be at the beach. Almost all the places has stores where you can buy cocktails, delicious sea food and rent chairs and umbrellas for the time you stay in the key.
6. CORO’S DUNES NATIONAL PARK & SAN ROMAN’S CAPE
In the road to the north of Falco State, we will find Coro’s Dunes National Park. This park is always changing, the dunes (made of very fine sand) moves time to time because of the big wind storm that wipes the area constantly. In the dunes you can practice some sand sports like sandboarding, kiteboarding and drive buggies.
The San Roman’s Cape is the northern point of Venezuela. In this place you can find a big lighthouse. If the air is clear, you can see without using binocular, the refinery of the Aruba Island. To go to the Cape you must to have a 4×4 vehicle because the last part of the road is heavy for a normal car.
5. CATATUMBO LIGHTNING
To the west of Venezuela in the Perija Saw, you will find the Catatumbo lightning. In this area there is a big lake that blows methane to the atmosphere, when this gas rise the clouds in the night, it generates an electric storm high in the sky. These lightning occurs all days of the year. It’s a world patrimony and the object of study of many Scientifics.
4. RORAIMA TEPUY
The tepuyes are geological structures of 1.6 million years of antique. These are the oldest geological structures in the world and you only will find it in Venezuela and the very north of Brazil. The Roraima is a tepuy with meters of altitude. In this tepuy you can find a very particular structures naturally made of stone on the top. These structures were the inspiration for Pixar to make the movie UP.
3. GUACHARO’S CAVE
It is a cave located in the Monaga State. This is one of the lager caves in the country. In the interior we got a lot of stalactites and stalagmites. Also we can find the Guacharo a type of bird who lives inside the cave. A local legend once said that the cave is so big, that the the exit is located in Vietnam. Another curious fact is that the cave in many many years will be fully closed because the stalactites and the stalagmites will be forming a wall of columns of calcite.
2. LOS ROQUES ARCHIPELAGO
A group of islands with very white, clear sand, and hot light blue water. This archipelago is located in the north of Venezuela. In its biggest island Gran Roque you will find hotels were when you wake up, you can see the blue water from the balcony of the room. To get to Los Roques you should take a 30min flight from Maiquetia in La Guaira.
1. ANGEL’S FALL
In the central and the south area of Venezuela is cover of a dense jungle. This jungle is the Canaima National Park or Gran Sabana. In this park you find the Angel’s Fall, the biggest fall of water in the world. The height of this fall is 979 meters high. You can see the fall from to perspectives: approaching on food through the jungle and see it from the base or taking a helicopter or a plane in the closer population. Wherever be the way you look it, you will be in shock of the beauty of the show. A place certainly worth travelling to.
